Today I began my painting a day challenge. Well, let me tell you I picked a more complicated subject than I imagined! I seem to do that to myself often though so no surprise there. This took a huge part of my day, but, I DID IT! As my own worst critic I can see plenty of things I would change if I were to do this portrait again and I learned which is the whole idea. My typical medium is oil…watercolor is new to me and I love it. So, kudos to me. I’m thrilled to have made it through day one.
Now what will happen to the portraits I accomplish?
Last night I wasn’t so sure, but, today while painting I’ve had lots of time to think about this. Owners have first dibs on whether they would like to buy the painting. The cost is $100 and that includes shipping. The painting is unframed. If the owner is not interested in purchasing the painting I will list it on my Etsy shop and it will be up for grabs to anyone who is interested.

Amazing Heidi! The saddle came out wonderfully, and the detail in the face, wow!!
