Here I have pictured another smaller painting I did several years ago.
- Kennebunk Cottage, ME
- 6 x 8″
- Oil on Canvas
This piece was initially inspired by the beautiful long winter shadows and the crisp light. Then, as I really got into it I could sense the short weathered grass that had died under the winter snow just begining to muster some life again. The American flag beaten and torn after the harsh coastal winds whipped at it relentlessly. It evokes a sense of quiet, a peaceful cottage setting that presents harder times in it’s past…such as age and a winter gone by.
